Charity Reilly - Co-Owner
I started my journey down the path of music education many years ago as a young college student. I attended the University of Indianapolis on scholarship for voice as my major with piano as my minor. As it often happens, the path has been winding and full of unexpected turns but it has finally come back around in this opportunity to share my love for music, education, and living your best life. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Indiana University, a Master of Social Work from Indiana University and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Reinhardt University. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Licensed Educator.
I am thrilled to have the opportunity to combine these licensed degrees with my passion for music to help guide our next generation of musicians and those who want to either discover for the first time or rediscover the music that lives inside of all of us. You are never too old or too young to pursue a new path or dream. I believe in the power that music has to help you live your absolute best life.
My husband, Patrick, has always been fully supportive of my passion for the arts and supports our two daughters who are focused musicians. Our son, we believe, is still working on discovering which instrument fits him best. I have had the opportunity to be able to teach, guide, and partner with my children’s instructors on their musical journey. Like anything worth doing, it has been both beautiful and challenging. My wish is to share the knowledge I have acquired over the years, often times the hard way, to encourage you to never give up. Whether it’s a time issue for your family and you don’t think you can fit one more thing into your schedule, or you just don’t know how to help your child once they get home and need to practice, or if YOU yourself want to dust off that instrument or start something completely new, it is never too late! I want to be there to support you in this endeavor which is truly one of the most amazing gifts you can give to your child or yourself. We have the ability at Freedom Academy of Music Education to differentiate lessons to accommodate all ages and learning styles. We differentiate curriculum based on each student’s individually assessed starting point.
You will see me most often at the front desk there to greet you and make sure that any questions or concerns you may have are properly addressed. You are very important to us and we will do our best to make sure you have a great experience at our music studio. I am so happy you have chosen to be part of Freedom Academy of Music Education and I look forward to working with you.
Music has always called to me. I attended the University of Georgia where I graduated and received my degree from the Terry College of Business (BBA – Management) while also completing the Music Business Certificate Program. I am honored to have been recognized by my alma mater as a recipient of their “Excellence in Music Business Award.”
Since the mid-1990’s I have been involved with many facets of the music industry including artist management, project coordination, business development, sound production, recording, and tour management. Throughout my career in the music industry, I have showcased 27 bands for major-label (Universal, Sony, Warner, EMI, etc.) recording deals and have worked with musicians of all calibers. My passion is helping musicians of all ages and individuals interested in music business to find their path and navigate the industry while helping them along the way to realize their vision of success.
I believe that music education provides many valuable skillsets and opportunities for personal growth that transfer directly into the “real” world. My wife Tara and I have seen this firsthand, with our own children, whom are aspiring musicians. We have also personally experienced how much of an impact music and expression of creativity can make in completely transforming a shy, timid child and giving them the self-confidence to command a stage in front of several hundred people.
You will find me overseeing the lessons and recording programs as well as coordinating our community outreach and engagement efforts alongside Charity. If there is anything I can do for you or any assistance that I can offer, please do not hesitate to ask. I am glad that you are here with us at Freedom Academy of Music Education, and I am looking forward to getting to know you and helping you along your musical and artistic journey.
